Time does funny things to your memory.
It snips, lengthens, erase, modify and many other minute editings of what you can remember.
I actually forgot that he was once my classmate, given how scattered the class (and even cohort) was, back in a few years.
The news is too sudden and shocking.
Suddenly I started to recall moments. Shock has a powerful way to jolt up some moments and stories hidden back at one’s mind.
I’ve never talked to you, but you were always the goofy guy around with your clique. The only time we had some form of interaction was quite a peculiar moment - I was furiously editing video tapes in the editing room, you came over to ask some stuff, and patted my head as a form of thanks. I chuckled. “That’s a really funny way to say thanks.” I thought in my head.
RIP Zixuan. Like how one of your friend has beautifully penned, you are a star to them and now you are back at where you belong, back with the stars in the night sky.
Justice will be served.
And for friends and people who I cherish, or once cherished, I love you. No matter how long or short life is, you guys have once made imprints in my journey, just like how stars light up the night sky.
